  • Ontario grain elevators responded to European demands last week with many elevators restricting certain corn hybrids for the 2020 season

  • Dryness in South America and Europe expected to see some rains in the next 10 days – may not be enough in the driest areas to break the drought but will offer some relief
  • China did make some U.S. purchases last week and are reportedly planning for further purchases of corn and beans to fill their state reserves – however delivery of these sales is expected for August onward – with the end of the 2019/20 marketing year for corn and beans at the start of September – these sales could look ugly on the final carryout numbers for 2019/2020 marketing year
