An independent, family owned company that was founded in 1971, Snobelen Farms Ltd. specializes in the production, processing and sales of food grade soybeans, commercial grains and pedigreed seed for markets across Canada and Internationally.

First Grain Bins

In 1971 Mike Snobelen built his first 2 grain bins on his home farm outside of Ripley, Ontario. They began receiving corn, cereals, flax and canola. The family grew, so did the business.

1976

Lucknow Acquired

Lucknow Acquired

In 1976, Mike purchased the Lucknow location from Anderson Flax.

1987

Dungannon Purchased

Dungannon Purchased

The Dungannon elevator was purchased in 1987 from Dungannon Grain, a division of Anderson Flax.

1997

Food Grade Soybeans

Food Grade Soybeans

In 1997, Snobelen Farms began shipping Food Grade Soybeans in response to European consumer demand.

2012

Blyth Elevator

Purchased in 2012, significant improvements were made to the Blyth Elevator such as a new receiving pit, updated electrical, new storage bin, office, truck probe, and dryer.

The Tiverton elevator was purchased from Roppel Farms.

Listowel

Snobelen Farms partnered up with Berlett Farms in Listowel to offer receiving to customers in the Listowel area.

Palmerston location was purchased, formally known as Bramhill Seeds.

Palmerston Seed Plant

Palmerston Seed Plant

In 2020 we completed our state of the art seed processing and treating plant in Palmerston. This location will be used to clean and treat soybean and cereal seed.

Snobelen Farms Ltd now has 8 elevator locations and employs roughly 60 full time employees celebrating 50 years in the Grain Industry in 2021.
