- The grain markets start the week off in the red.
- Weekend rains weigh on the wheat, Midwest planting progress continues quickly.
- Flash Sale: 235,000mt of corn sold to Mexico. 130,000mt for delivery in 2024/2025 and 105,000mt is for delivery during the 2025/2026 marketing year.
- The CFTC report showed soybeans were net buyers for the week, corn and wheat were net sellers. Soybeans have a net long positions of 53k contract, this is the largest since the first week of February. Both positions for corn and wheat are modest compared to history.
- Weather
- Rains were strong over the weekend in parts of the US. Rains continuing in the northern plains and corn belt today. The 6-10 day forecast shows a mixture of wet and dry conditions
- Argentina saw scattered rains from the north to the south over the weekend and their looks to be little rain this week, rains to start up again in the 6-10 forecast.
- Brazil saw wide spread rains as well over the weekend and the rains will continue in the center north throughout the week. This moisture is helping Brazils second crop corn and their southern harvest.
