- Markets are lower this morning with beans leading the decrease, holding near lows on domestic and global production prospects.
- Soybeans are weaker as traders await the US weekly export sales report.
- Favorable central US weather along with slowing world import demand adding pressure to grain futures.
- A federal appeals court on Thursday temporarily reinstated Trump’s global tariffs. This provisional stay came one day after a US trade court ruled that Trump had misused emergency powers to impose the tariffs. This decision allows the tariffs to remain in place while the legal battle continues.
- US ethanol production increased by 1.9% last week.
- Sovecon has raised its projection for Russia’s wheat exports in the upcoming season. The forecast was raised by 3% from its prior estimate.
- It seems that unless a significant weather event develops in the US corn belt over the coming weeks, its unlikely that we will see very much price volatility in corn for the balance of the summer.
